Helena Hofmann

Helena Hofmann is an award-winning writer/producer based in Berlin with more than 10 years production and development experience in Germany, London (FilmWave) and Los Angeles (Echo Lake Entertainment).

She graduated from Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg in 2018 with a master’s in drama series producing and development, and was selected for the UCLA Extension Hollywood Workshop and the Keith Cunningham DAI Heidelberg Writers’ Room Workshop. In 2019 her project MIDNIGHT CIRCUS (with Co-Writer Gabriel Borgetto) was selected for the IDM Racconti #8 Writerslab. In 2020 she was part of Frank Spotnitz’s Showrunner fellowship SERIAL EYES at DFFB.

Since 2018, Helena has been working as a freelance writer and producer for several production companies, including X Filme, RatPackFilm, UFA Fiction and Studio Hamburg. She worked with national and international showrunners such as Ralf Husmann (Stromberg, Merz gegen Merz, Frau Jordan stellt gleich), Frank Spotnitz (XFiles, Man in the High Castle, Medici) and Dean Georgaris (Gladiator, Life of Pi).

Helena is a Co-founder of the writing initiative EINFACH SCHREIBEN and taught series writing as a Co-Mentor for Akademie der Kindermedien 2021.In 2022 she launched the production label ANTHILL ROAD PRODUCTIONS.
