Matthias Börner

Matthias is a screenwriter based in Potsdam. After studying theatre, he worked severaljobs within and outside the film industry until joining the first season of Netflix’s Emmy-winning show The Empress as a writers’ assistant and script coordinator. For the show’ssecond season he returned, this time as part of the writing team, and contributedan episode script.

After SERIAL EYES, he participated in the FULL MOON CREATIVE LAB for genre seriesin Romania. He is comfortable working in a wide range of genres and strives to finda glimmer of hope and humor even in the darkest of subjects. Several of his projects,including a comedy series and a supernatural horror film, are currently in development atproduction companies.
